Jodi Taitt is an economist with over 30 years of experience developing strategic plans for waste diversion and implementing them in all types of commercial buildings. She has a vast knowledge of designing waste diversion systems including loading dock and building space design; best practices materials transfer systems; requests for proposals and contracts; corporate cost reduction models; and standard operating procedures. Jodi has had countless success using cutting edge waste prevention, reuse, recycling and organic waste management strategies as tools to help organizations increase efficiencies and decrease costs.
As a pioneer in the field of waste diversion, Jodi founded the consulting firm, EcoConsilium, over 23 years ago. The company partners with business and government to lean their operations, decrease fixed costs, increase profits and comply with ever-increasing regulations. EcoConsilium has been trusted by hundreds of organizations to improve their waste diversion programs and support their bottom line.
Prior to consulting, Jodi was the State Recycling Coordinator for the Minnesota Department of Administration’s Resource Recovery Office. There she worked with teams of recycling coordinators, contractors and vendors to develop recycling collection systems for over 280 state agency locations; presided over the first State Capitol Complex waste composition studies; and managed the establishment of the State Recycling Center, which processed and marketed recyclables generated by Minnesota state agencies for 20 years.
Jodi received a Masters of Science in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Recycling Association of Minnesota and is a founding board member and secretary of the Meadow Lake Watershed Association, which she helped establish in 2005.
