Brenda Martens
Director, Research & Collaboration, Light House Sustainable Building Centre
Brenda has worked in the building industry for over 25 years. She is a practitioner, educator and advocate in the field of green building and sustainability. She joined Light House in the fall of 2018 as their Director of Research and Collaboration. She has served the green building community in a number of volunteer roles, including being a member of the Board of the Cascadia Green Building Council, she is past faculty with the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and the University of British Columbia Continuing Studies, and is a co-founder of the Open Green Building Society, an organization that open sources information about green buildings. In addition to her work at Light House, she currently teaches green building and sustainability for BCIT, and in 2018 she was appointed to the Order of British Columbia for her work in sustainability.
